Will this work?

I am trying to negotiate the removal of a old debt; here is what I'm planning on doing, will this get me the result I'm looking for?
Collection Account Details:
Amount: $116
Status: Past Due/Delinquent
I have contacted the OC and have worked out to pay them the full amount and in return they will report it as "paid as agreed". The part that has me worried is the CA is the one reporting this on my credit, NOT the OC. So my question is what will happen to the entry on my credit as reported by the CA? Will it be removed/updated to "paid as agreed" or will I need to deal with them separately?

If the collector does not own the account then they have to dele
If the collector does not own the account then they have to delete it. You can't get the original creditor off though. Most likely if you prove you paid the OC then dispute the collection account on your credit reports, it should get removed.
