I keep hearing two different things about bank acct garnishment.
1. The garnishment is a one time deal
and
2. Once a garnishment has been levied on your account it stays there until the entire judgement is paid.

Which is it?
I live in Ohio and had just over 3k levied on my checking account. At the time of the garnishment they were only able to take out 200 dollars at the time of the garnishment. Now, one week later there is supposed to be money direct deposited into the account. I need to know if THAT SAME GARNISHMENT is going to apply. Or, if they want to take more money, they will need to get another judgment against me.

Some clarification would be greatly appreciated.

It is the second amount. The creditor is garnishing your account to get back the money you owe to him. Thus the garnishment will go on till the outstanding debt amount is paid off. However, how much the creditor can garnish at a time will depend on the garnishment laws in your state.
