A debt collector is calling me everyday for a 2 year old debt. Is it allowed in Ohio? Isn't it prohibited in this year? What steps can I take?

I did not find any law that prohibits debt collectors from making collection calls in Ohio. However, they are forbidden from garnishing your stimulus checks. Ask them to validate the debt in writing first.

If you dont want them calling you, send a cease and desist letter.

Since you debt has not crossed the statute of limitation in Ohio, the debt collectors can call you for unpaid debts. But first make sure that you owe that debt. Ask for a validation letter from the debt collectors. After that if you find the debt is legitimate, you can try to negotiate with the collectors to pay off the debt in a reduced amount.
