i ask portfolio recovery for validation. they sent me a letter thats starts out with affidavit of ownership and sale of claim. then it goes on to say that they bought a debt from arrow financial for the sum of 200 dollars.on 12/15/2005. and that there is no unknown payments made by me. is this validation. i ask for copies of the contract of the original debtor account balance any monies paid etc.oh yes and they had it noteried. but i feel this isnt the information i have ask for am i correct or is this considered validation.and they have arrow financial as the original creditor isnt that just another collection agency? any help is appreciated.

A proper validation should include the following information in the letter sent by the CA.

Law Student has posted useful information on debt validation. Go to this link below.

Remember, collectors who don't follow the laws will not give you complete details of your debt. Make sure that you don't end up sending money without reviewing your account thoroughly

Normally when they fail to collect, they sell the account to another collection agency. This happened to one of my accounts with first premier visa, when it was sold to bay area credit. This is their contact info:
Arrow financial service
5996 w. Touhy ave
Niles, il 60714
