I let my ex boyfriend (who i lived with for a year and a half) put some of his debt on a credit card I got with bank of america. after we broke up, he continued to pay, although often late and recently stopped paying altogether. I requested through bank of america to have my name removed from the card, but his credit is bad so they said they can't remove me. Now i'm getting phone calls from allied interstate and i dont know what to do. I can't afford to pay the minimum payment (340) and the debt is too big to take to small claims court (4,500+) in Arizona. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I doubt they would have taken your name off of the card. Is what they would have done was close that account and open one in his name.

I would call back to BoA and explain again the situation and that the account needs to be closed. I would attempt to work something out with them so that it doesn't futher damage your credit until this can get resolved through some type of legal action against the ex.

Although if you do sue him there is no guarantee that he will pay you either.
