Any laws about collection agencies retaliating? Im in WA State, Pacific NW Collections garnished my spouse (I am disabled, waiting for disabil hearing x1 yr now) for 3 of MYunpaid Hosp/ER visits in 2005. They only did it AFTER I filed a complaint a month or so ago with FTC because they refused to give me any copies or statements, were nasty and just rude.
Spouse is sole supp for myself and 2 kids still at home....can't pay rent now.

They can only do garnishment if they have a court order from a judgement. Contact your local civil court to see if there ever was a lawsuit against you. If there was, ask them how to file a Motion to Vacate due to Improper Service since you never knew about it.
The other way is a voluntary wage attachment. Have your wife inquire with her HR to find out who is requesting and see if she can get it canceled.

Washington is a Community Property state. If they *did* do it, then they likely *could* do it. Unless it was voluntary on her employer's part, then it is them you need to fight with.
