First of all I am very sorry for your health problems, and I hope that you can achieve a better health as soon as possible.
I would recommend sending them cease and desist forms(located under the DIY section) and ask to only deal with the original lender. Attempt to dispute the debt and obtain validation if you are able to, and make sure to keep/record any and all information. Unfortunately, this debt was created by you, and they will attempt to obtain it one way or the other. I would check your local state laws to see if you are able to write off this debt due to your disability status, or if they have any type of debt consolidation/assistance through the state offices(Job & Family Services?).
Honestly, a debt consolidation/assistance company would help you immensely, and would be able to lower the payments to something more reasonable for you, and also help you to pay less in the long run. If you're willing to pay the debt, the credit card company has to work with you.
