I also was a victim of Bass and Associates a.k.a Ellison and Crosby. I took out two pay day loans. I thought that I had paid then both in full. Now I have Patty calling me saying that I am going to jail for a felony for bank fraud. Patty is at 1-877-281-2220 ext 315. I could hear a a lot of people talking in the background. They never call me at home they call me at work. She always says that she has a meeting and to call her back. She even gave me a case number to give to my lawyer. Then she proceeds to ask me if I had a lawyer. Hello RED FLAG!!! I looked up the company and found this website. I read all the messages on this site. I know I went through all the same things that you guys did. All I got to say is thank you everyone for saving my life. I was so scared. Don't let the ppl people that come here run you down. Just this website is helping to make a positive change. I just wanted to thank all of you I read all of your stories and got a lot of valuable information. All I got to say is you are all angles.God bless everyone united we all stand against them.
Love the Wickster.

I love this site. Like you I was a harassed by Bass and Assoc from a "Stan Morman". I filed a complaint with the AG of FL and they sent me some papers to complete and notorize. Get those complaints out girl if at all possible. I would love to see Bass and Assoc busted for all the crap they have put so many people through....

i received a phone call at work today from paul einstein at B&A he told me i would be served papers at work charging me with fraud because money kept coming out of my bank account after i paid off a payday loan so i stopped payment at the advice of my bank he also told me bass & assoc will be contacting my employer to tell them i was using their computer to commit fraud.when i told him i have never used my company computer to apply for anything & as a matter of fact we do not have access to the internet he told me that i couldn't prove that and after serving me papers at work and calling my employer that i would surely lose my job he actually said "is this really worth losing your job over, i suggest you wire us the money" he hung up on me when i told him he best not contact me at work or contact my employer and how would he expect any money if i lose my job. Needless to say i drove home from work sick to my stomach.Any advice would be appreciated i am a nervous wreck someone will show up at work and serve me papers charging me with fraud HELP!!!!!

No they won't show up and serve you papers. That is the way they do business. To scare people into paying their debts. Do a little reading on your states payday loan laws. And file a complaint with your states AG and Fl AG and the FTC. when you get the papers from FL make sure you get them notorized. The more complaints against this company the better. You can also file a claim with the BBB. The next time tell them that you want the debt validated and to no longer call you at work. Plus send this to them in writing but make sure you send it cert. mail with return reciept requested so you know that they got it. and save anything you have from them save your bank statements to prove you paid this and send that paperwork along with your complaint.

Scaredtodeath- Listen to these people and do what they suggested. What they are doing is wrong and I cant wait until they have their day... They pulled the same crap with me as well. You arent going to jail and no papers will be served. This company is so unreal.

I was also harassed at work by Bass & Associates and United Pay Service. They threatened me with the same thing, that they were going to send someone to my work and serve me with papers. I was so scared that ran to Walmart and got a moneygram to pay them. It is at the point that I am scared to answer the phone at work for fear it will be them again.

it is just a threat to get you to pay. Do not send them any money. Make them validate the debt first. They will not do that because they do not want you to know their real address. Tell them that you will not send money by money gram or western union. That they have to accept a money order and that is the only way you will pay them BUT only after they send you validation. That will stop their calls. Also if they call you at work tell them that because you are at a company that ALL phone calls are recorded and NOT to call you there anymore. You will only accept written communication with them from now on. I did this and I haven't heard from them in like 3 weeks now. It has been so peaceful.

I am glad you are not falling for all the BS that they try to tell you. I still don't know how they think they can get away with it. I am having the same problem with Allen Lewis and Associates. I have had several arguements with a Mrs. Jacks from there.

I dealt with Allen Lewis & Associates myself a few months ago. Send them a dv letter with a cease and desist part in the letter. This way they can no longer contact you at work. Fax the dv letter if you can first and then mail it certified mail with return receipt. File a complaint with the Attorney General in your state as well as Florida! You can do this online.

One thing I notice that these people do when they call is to tell you that you are a criminal having committed fraud and they monitored you on a certain date committing fraud by taking out a loan and not paying it back. And then they proceed like they are cops asking you all these questions such as have you ever committed fraud before have you ever had any criminal activity in your background. Who do these people think that they are.

Do these collection agencies such as Bass & Associates have the right to treat you like a criminal by interrogating you. When they called me they said I committed fraud and started basically interrogating me. They asked have you committed fraud before? Do you have criminal activity in your past have you written bad checks before.

They said fraud to me and that they were trackign my location unless I paid them now. The only thing I could think about was my 3 year old, my 18mos old and my husban who burried his father March 21. They said my husband was an accessorie even though he knew nothing about this. I feel so stupid. I had no problem paying it if I owed it. They even put me on hold saying there bosses were sticklers about this when I said I couldnt come up with money right away. I had to ask my 8mos pregnant sister to help me. I am normally not this quick to jump when someone says jump they just caught me at the right time. Its a shame they take advantage.

I think the guest who had been threatened with her kids being taken away should file a huge lawsuit and use that to as a claim for mental anguish. I would try for no less thank $90,000. Get yourself a very good attorney that works on a contingency (meaning they will take a certain percentage of what you win) that way they can get a nice hard hit where it hurts them the most. b@st@rds

Those "people" at Bass make me sick. They are such scum! Threatening that your kids will be taken away! Call the AG in Florida. There has been an ongoing investigation into them for a while now. I thought they were supposed to cease and desist all collection efforts while they were being investigated. Scum! I would call the lady back that threatened you and scream at her to leave your kids out of this. And then tell her she will personally be hearing from your attorney. Or tell her that if she takes your kids, you'll take hers. Unless the state already has her kids. AUGH! They make me so MAD! :x
