I inherited huge credit card debt that I cannot pay for. Is it true that cc companies will accept any amount I offer?

I don't believe you can inherit cc debt..if someone in your family passed and left behind cc debt ,they will not come after family members ....I should say they SHOULD not come after family members to pay it....they may try to collect it from you but you are not legally responsible for it so don't let them bully you!!

("http://www.legalmatch.com/law-library/article/inheriting-debt.html") Only if it was a joint account or the alleged debtor is the spouse of the deceased. All community property does is split everything 50-50 with husband and wife. ("http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Community_property")

Basically, before the probated estate is distributed to the beneficiaries, the deceased debts are removed and the creditors are paid from that. If the alleged creditor waited until after all that, it's probably a case of "too bad, so sad".

But I would strongly advise you to speak with a Probate attorney.
