I just pulled a copy of my credit report. I have several collection accounts I want to pay off but they do not have a business name or contact. It just says "unregistered" or "unreported". There are account numbers but no name. How do I know who they are? I really want to pay them but without a name and contact info I am at a loss. They are for very small amounts of money ($19, $43, etc). It says they are closed, but the status says collection. They are between 3-5 years old.:confused::confused:

You are right. You can't take any action if you don't know the names of the collection agencies. You may send a letter to the credit bureaus asking them the name of the collection agencies. Once you get to know about the names of the collection agencies, you can look for the contact details from the internet.

besides since you stated the entries had either unregistered,or unreported on them with no info it could take alot longer to find out who these companies are through a regular inquiry than a dispute as if you dispute the CRA must provide info on the place reporting or delete the entry.dispute all as not only will they be removed, but it will be faster than trying to get the info on an unregistered entry.
