I live in Pennsylvania.
I had a summons sent from this firm for a Citi account there were collecting on.
I didn't respond in the 20 day time frame due to extraordinary circumstances I wont discuss here.
I was issued a 10 day letter, then a default judgement was passed against me for the full amount owed.

I am wondering what my rights are at this point with this company. I called them and was able to set up payment arrangements that might be unreasonable for me to continue for an extended period.

I told them the first payment I will be able to make will be on my next pay date of June 10. They said I had to do this one through a check by phone. I said I only want to pay by money order ( I would rather not give them my banking info).

Anyone have any advice on how I should handle this situation?

Payment over phone is very risky. It is always better to repay debt through check or money order in lieu of cash. In this case, if it is not possible for you to settle the payment mode with creditors, then you can get help from a reliable debt settlement company. This company negotiates with your creditors on your behalf.
