well first you check into your state laws as per recording of calls.if you are a one party state then you can record without their consent.if you are a two party state you must infom them.now you need to get this rhetoric on tape as pinnacle needs to be sued by you for violating the FCRA(fair credit reporting act)bottomline they are illegaly reporting a debt they acknowledged was not with them and you do't owe them.that is illegal and you need to get pinnacle for this.once you get the recording.go to www.naca.net there you will a consumer attorney in your area that will sue pinnacle on a contingency basis meaning pinnacle will pay his fee,and all costs.please do this as they are ruining your credit illegaly.

Ohhhh yes...you have them by the shorthairs if you get that bull on tape! The fact is, whoever is reporting the account has the responsibility to report it correctly, which they are not!
Send them a debt validation letter......since they are reporting you have the right to demand they prove you owe what they say you owe and the responsibility to report correctly.
Make sure you send this letter certified mail return receipt. You simply demand they prove you still owe X amount of dollars, and that they have the right to report this account at all! You also point out how the account is reporting incorrectly, in detail then demand they correct the mistakes.
Once they get this letter you then dispute the listing with each of the reporting agencies.
If they verify the listing, you will have them on a whole slew of violations of FDCPA, FCRA and FACTA!!
Now FDCPA is $1000 only, no matter the violations, but the other two have no limit, it is $1000 per violation...so if they have a handful of violations on all 3 credit reports, well, you can see how it all adds up fast.
And the wonderful thing about it is that it is a slam dunk......there is nothing they can do to wiggle out..because by taping the conversations and providing proof of those letters that spelled out exactly what the problem was and how it needed to be fixed, they left themselves no room. They can't even claim a bona fide error. Believe me, they will settle with you before it even gets in front of the judge.
You should definitely pursue this vigorously.
