I got a call from Pinnacle on an over 7 year old debt that has already come off of my credit report. They are saying they now represent this debt? It was ebay fraud and the credit card company would not acknowledge that goods (a computer) was never received and that the funds being picked up at a Western Union in Lithuania was fraud. This thing was arbitrated and it was ruled in our favor. How can this company now say they are representing a resolved debt? Should I even respond to them?

These people would often call you and ask you to pay for debts that are not theirs. They'd buy junk leads and try to scare them with an aim to get something out of it.

I do agree with that. The debt may have gone past the SOL too. You could've reported them with the AG, FCC and forwarded a C & D letter (
and kept the receipt) asking them to stop calling you.
