They left a voicemail on my cell one night saying there was a judgment waiting to be filed for a pay day loan that went delinquent. They even called my cousin (are they allowed to do that?!?!)
Since I was scared, I called them back and agreed to make payments on the account. They faxed me back the schedule for the payment arrangement and then I got a letter in the mail with a different schedule.
When I noticed that the two letters had different schedules, it was already too late! They had already taken out $108 in July when I thought my first payment was going to be in August!!! When I called them, I spoke with "Mr. John Bond" (I'm guess that's not his real name) and he assured me that nothing was going to come out of my account for the month of August and that they were going to send me a new letter with the updated schedule ... well surprise surprise, no letter and a new charge on my account for the month of August.
This morning, I called and spoke with "Mr. John Bradley" (I'm starting to wonder why all these reps go by "Mr. John X"). He got really confrontational with me saying that there was no reference to my conversation with Mr. John Bond and that he can't send me an updated schedule because he's already sent me the original. I asked him why he was raising his voice and he said not to tell him how to do his job when I was simply asking for updated documents showing my payment plan. He then hung up and when I tried to call back, I found out that they blocked my number from calling their main line.
Thank God for multi-line systems because I was able to get a hold of them again. When I spoke with Mr. John Bradley again he was still confrontational but said he would fax over the new documents but it still hasn't arrived.
I want to find out if anyone has heard of this so-called law group and what I can do to file a complaint against them? I have since closed the account that I gave them because I feel that they have poor practice (no documentation, rudeness to customers) within their company. What should I do???

what state are you in? what lender was this? perhaps this can be moved for the payday loan foroum? how much was borrowed, and paid back? if the loan was not legal, many times they use even more illegal collection tactics, this might be one of those times. they are allowed to call family, but only to ask how to reach you, i believe.. did they send you anything in writing? i would send them a dv letter and not speak to them until/unless it is validated.

i would also close your current account and open a new one.your bank should be able to help with this.btw,bea2ls is right on the calls to others, but i'm guessing they told the cousin more than they were allowed.i recommend closing the account, because this bottomfeeder has your account number.block their access, then send the letter.

thank you for the feedback. the account is currently in collections. after i set up the payment plan with them, i asked them to send me verification of the debt but they declined my request stating that by making payment arrangements, i acknowledge that the debt is mine, which is all fine but shouldn't they be able to provide me with documentation anyway?
i closed my account already and opened up a new one so they wouldn't have access to my funds. this is really poor practice. i am not trying to run away from my obligations -- i just want to be treated with respect.
i swear these collection agencies should go to hell.

oh really, and giving you two different payment schedules says what for them?that they are most likely a bottomfeeder.you could technically bring up the schedule that states they would debit in AUG then they debited in JULY.that would bring the issue of verification in your favor.then you send the validation letter.
