Denied credit card

I have shopped at New York and Company for more years than I can remember. However, everytime I apply for a credit card I'm denied. The letter I received said it's because of "poor credit performance on another credit card issued by WFNNB". When I call the no one can tell me what credit card I had previously with WFNNB.
