false payments claimed

I was checking my credit report and see there are 3 accounts being claimed by Portfolio Recovery. However they are claiming I have made payments on each of the accounts to them- which is a lie. I believe they are doing that to "keep the clock active" on these debts. Who would I complain to??

Dispute the error with the 3 major credit bureaus. Do it as soon as possible because false listing can affect your credit score negatively.

Ask the collection agency to validate the debt in writing. You can also use dispute the debt with the credit bureau.
