No action can be taken. If the only source of income is SSDI and you have no assets you are what is called JUDGMENT PROOF. That is a good thing. The bad part is that if you ever plan on returning to work, in most states a judgment is good for 20 years.
If you are older and never plan on returning to work then you can rest easy. You need to tell them and the court when they ask that your only source of income is from SSDI and any money in your bank accounts is also from disability and is exempt.
I am in the same boat too my friend. I have a judgment against me and there was nothing I could do. But like you I also have no assets and am on SSDI. So it is pretty useless for them to sue me when they can't get nothing out of me,lol.
Just so you know, If they ever try to get money out of you or if they try to con you into a payment agreement, SAY NO. They have every right to ask you to pay from your SSDI but in no way can you be forced to.
Have you gone to court yet for any payment hearings?
Do they have any of your banking information? If not then do not give it to them.
If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
