I have just received a Legal Notice Email from ECS Legal Dept saying that they are presuing legal avenues for check fraud for a payday loan I obtailned. I have spoken to Ray Rhodes and he refused my making payment by money order he advised that the only form of payment is prepaid credit card. ECS did email me a Attempt to Collect a Debt Letter and I found it weird that Corporate Letterhead's address was misspelled. I ask for the original to be mailed and it was and the Corporate Address was corrected in pen. The company supposedly representing ECS if Slovin Esq. which of course I can find not information on. I live in NYS and I have been told that I cannot be sued becasue loans in NY are illegal. Is this correct? Should I contact ECS and make payment because I dont want to be sued nor do I want any garnishment from my current employer. I just find it very weird that they would accept any other form of payment.

I called the Florida Dept of Finance and they helped me locate Mr. Slovin so he does work for them...but Im surprised any attorney would agree to work with a collection agency that does not deal fairly with consumers.

Payday loans are illegal in NY. They are feeding you a bunch of BS. Who was the original lender, amount originally borrowed and amount paid back.?

how do you know he is an attorney?if he is then you file a complaint with the FLA BAR ASSOCIATION.that way they can deal with him as yes he is basically in bed with a complete bottomfeeder as ECS is.also hinting at check fraud should get him disbarred.

Make no payments. Do not get fooled by this crap. The misspelling on the letterhead is because some non-native English speaker typed it, possibly some guy in India. File complaints against ECS with the AG, the FTC and the county cops.
