Hilco Nightmare

We were in the process of refinancing our mortgage and the last thing we needed to close was to clear a judgement on our credit report. I was currently paying off an old credit card bill through a wage garnishment because I did not show up for court, thinking I could not be sought for "unsecured" debt. Anyway, the wage garnishment was through Portfolio Recovery and Affiliates but when I pulled my credit report recently it showed a judgement from Hilco. There is no other data to follow up on. So, I went to the local recorders office where the jusdgement was filed and found nothing there. I showed my mortgage lender our Termination Letter of the wagfe garnishment, however the case number does not match the one on my credit report, so now they won't let us close and I am left trying to get a hold of Hilco to get them to update or showed paid on my credit report. I still don't even know if Hilco is the same company or have they gone to court without serving us papers? If we have a judgement from Hilco and it is not related, then they have done it improperly by not serving us. Any suggestions?
Portfolio is probably using their internal account number vs the
Portfolio is probably using their internal account number vs the judgment number. You are going to have to call them. Same with Hillco.
Have you looked up your judgment on your local county court website??
