Back on January 11th 2012 I sent this collector a letter (no contact and send proof letter) in regards to PayDay Max. I recieved a response from them over the weekend. I asked them to send me proof including PayDay Max's license to practice in Wisconsin, Professioanl Debt Mediations license in Wisconsin, application, bills, records of communications and payment history with PayDay Max. They did provide me with the electronic contract with my electronic signature. They also showed that the amount financed was 500.00 with a Finance Charge of 166.25. But somehow I have a bill showing that I owe 1,000.00. They did not provide me with any other documentation other then this contract. My question is what do I do now? I know that this company can get pretty nasty and would like to deal with this head on. Any sugestions would be helpful. I understand that I took out a PayDay loan online and I understand that I owe money but at this time 1,000 is way out of the water and there is no way that I will ever be able to pay this back. I am currently fixing all the problems that I caused with Pay Day loans in 2011 and things are starting to get a bit better but not enough to start paying these people outragous amounts like this. They will not accept payments and want the full 1,000 within 7 days. Help!!!

a couple of points.

1)paydaymax is not located in the US so they are illegal in every state.

2)that being said you only owe the 500.00.not only that, but any debits of 166 plus get deducted from the 500.00.

3)professional debt mediation is a bottomfeedin collector.

4)the contract is illegal so providing just that copy is not validation.

file AG,AND FTC complaints against both parties.meaning paydaymax and professional debt mediation.you don't owe near 1000.00 in fact most likey nowhere near the 500.00.file the complaints and don't even think about paying them.

there is a sticky that ohiogal1 authored titled(dealing with illegal lenders)at the top of the pdl help forum.it has the template letter you are looking for.use that to send to both the pdl,and the bottomfeeder.now still file the AG complaint, but also a DFI(dept of financial inst)complaints as well.being you are in WI other members have had success going that route.
