A few months ago a witch from Professional Recovery Systems (PRS) called regarding a debt who was so unprofessional and rude I refused to work with her.  Now Thompson and Associates (out of Lawrence, MA) are calling me (who are representing PRS) and although nicer and professional don't seem able/willing to be flexible with a settlement as I would like (50% vs 25%-30% I've had with other collectors) and also state that they're not a collection agency, but a law office who will apply high out of state fees if they sue. I've received their paperwork to validate the debt.

Has anyone had any experience with either?  I plan to call PRS directly, but any other suggestions are welcome.  Thanks in advance.

Yes, I too think that if you settle the debt with PRS, you will be able to settle it for 30 to 40% of the outstanding debt amount. Since Thompson and Associates is representing PRS, they will be adding their fees to the settlement amount and that may be the reason why Thompson is not willing to settle the debt below 50%.
