Absolutely NOT!!!!!!!!!! Did your boss give you the name of the douchebag who called??? If he or she did, get it, call the number, raise hell and then call your attorney!!!

Contact an attorney by going to naca.net and looking for one in your area. Also check to see if recording phone calls is legal in your state, and if so, see if you can record them pulling this again. Make sure you document everything, even if it's just by writing down the day and time of the call, and the content of the conversation.

This type of harrassment by a collector is a violation of the fdcpa and they can (and should) be punished for it.

Welcome to the forums :-) What collection agency contacted you?? No, they cannot tell your boss that you are quitting your job. That doesn't even make sense if they want to get paid. Take the advice given in the previous posts but also file a complaint with the FTC and your state's attorney general's office. Good luck and keep us updated.

yeah i called them and asked them about it and of course they are still trying to get money from me, i said that well, if you recommend a lawsuit to the creditor, i will countersue you for violating the law, but whatever, ill see what happens with it...

No I didn't grow up in NJ but did grow up back East, lol--which is why I hightailed it to the West Coast! Osho, you need to get a lawyer and make some noise about this, because this is not right. What if your boss posted your job? That collector was just being an a**hole about it and needs to be punished.
