Rachel are you just asking a general question? We aren't connected with your account here, but in my opinion only it seems like you should be able to beforehand, to avoid all parties having to go to court, pay fees, etc.

rachel-sometimes you can contact the original creditor before hand and sometimes the attorney listed on your paper will work with you. I had a summons once on a dental bell and I contacted the attorney on the paper and worked out a deal with them. Sometimes the courts have a mediator you can talk to who will try to get it resolved with you before court. Good luck...Karen

Hi rachelc
How old are these debt accounts? If you have a court case on this matter, you will like to cover your base legally first. If the debt is out of the SOL period, you can notify the company in writing before appearing in the court.
However, if the account is within the legal collections, you can arrange payments with your creditors and get the case pulled back by your creditors from the court. Make sure that they withdraw the case from the court and you are notified in writing about it.

ok. I'll call them when I get home and try to arrange a payment plan of 2 equal payments, and have them withdraw the case. If that don't work, then I'll call the lawyer listed and try the same thing. Thanks!
Re: Summons
They will settle for almost half the amount if you pay in full before the 10 or 20 days summons is up. If the statue of limitations is up (SOL) you dont need to pay at all. Also, even though you do pay it will stay on your credit report for the 7yrs still. They can update it to show paid , but most wont bother after they get the money.
