I have a question concerning Palisades Collections I hope someone can answer. I received a letter in the mail today listed as being sent by State Court of Fulton County claiming civil action against me by Palisades Collections. However, I've never spoken to anyone from Palisades nor can I find any correspondence from them either. In the letter which arrived in general mail, it says "Pursuant tp UNIFORM STATE COURT RULE 20, this case is set upon a peremptory calendar for 08-OCT-2012, at 9:30:00 AM in room 3A, 185 Central AVE SW ATLANTA GA 30303, before the Honorable Myra H. Dixon.

What I'm wondering is why I've not received any previous correspondence from them, no mention as to what they're collecting for etc. Also the signature from the Chief Deputy Clerk, for State Court of Fulton County is a photocopy as is the letter. Should correspondence from a court contain a notory stamp and or the original signature instead of a photocopied letter? I'm confused as to what this is and nowhere is there any information on contacting Palisades or where their location is.

Looks like you have been served. Collectors need not inform you beforehand in case they want to sue you. Check with the county court and see if there is a suit filed against you.

If the papers and the case is legit, show up in court on the mentioned date and ask for debt validation during discovery. That is the most you can do I believe.

There is no point contacting Palisades now. If you want information on what they are collecting, check your credit report.
