Getting Wrong Number Calls from Redline. how do I deal with it?
Date: Tue, 06/02/2009 - 09:58
Because it is a recorded call I can't speak to anyone. I am forced to call the phone number provided. When I call them I give them my cell phone number and they are not finding it their systems. They don't have my name in their system either. Nor do they have my home phone number. But obviously somewhere they have my cell phone number because the calls keep coming.
I cannot get these calls to stop. I get them every day sometimes multiple times a day. It has taken time out of my day to try and find someone to help.
Has anyone else heard of a similar problem?
Will a cease and desist letter work in this situation?
Should I contact my states attorney general?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First of all send them a letter by certified mail asking them to remove you cell number from their contact list. You can send them the letter at any of the following addresses:
Redline Recovery Services, LLC
6201 Bonhomme Road Ste. 100-S, Houston, TX 77036 or
95 John Muir Drive, Suite 100, Amherst, NY 14228
If they still disturb you over phone you can file a complaint against them with the FTC by calling them at their toll free number 1-877-382-4357 (1-877-FTC-HELP).

Yes to all 3 of your questions. If they are calling you, then they obviously have your number in their system and are totally lying to you. Yes, file complaints with the FCC and the FTC and your State Attorney General's office. And collection agencies are not allowed to call you on your cell phone (they cannot call you as to incur charges).
It may possibly be a scam spoofing Redline's number. Unfortunately, I think the only recourse you really have here is to change your number.
