Hello! I have been dealing with redline recovery for months now. The settlement they have asked for they want a large deposit on, which I cannot pay and they refuse to work with me for an amount I Can pay. They are harassing my mother (my co-signer) as well as my fiance's phone looking for me. They told me at one point they didn't even want to talk to me because I had no money and they would be going after my mother. They have threatened legal action but as of now have not done anything. What should I Do?

I have considered sending a CAD letter but I would like them to make all contact through mail, I cannot find a letter outline that details that. I do want to settle my debt and would like to do so outside of court if possible. My debt with this company is about 21,000 and it's from A Sallie Mae Career Loan from about 2 years ago. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I am an attorney.  Redline is a criminal enterprise.  They are in major trouble and may not exist too much longer (what they did will probably involve serious jail time).  If you get calls from them, let them know that you want to consult with an attorney before you pay them.  They will get angry, and become abusive.  That will cause a violation of the Fair Debt Recovery Practices Act, which is a criminal offense and also actionable in Civil Court!  DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, PAY THEM ANY MONEY!!!!!!!1
