I got a call and and informed them I could not pay my debt in the alloted time.The person said If I do not pay he said he knows where I live and will send people to hurt me physically.I called my lawyer,police and filed reports and wrote letters to the AG's office.

You should not let these threats go unreported. File a complaint with the FTC and the DA's office. If they call you next time, record their phone calls for legal use. Check the laws on recording in your state. Some states require permission from both the parties before recording.
