Cease and desist

After a cease and desist is sent to a collection agency, do they have the right to contact you one last time? If so, can you request that it is in writing only?
They do have the right to contact you one last time, to tell you
They do have the right to contact you one last time, to tell you that they are stopping collection, that they are going to continue resuming collection and may use whatever remedies are allowed by law, or that they are returning the account to the original creditor. I dont think that you can mandate the method that this last communication will use, but in my experience, once I send that letter the only communication I get is when the CA ignores the C&D demand, which is of course illegal.
