So I'm signed up with Superior Debt, and have been receiving calls from Richard J Boudreau and Associates (I googled the #) regarding a Citi account.

I asked my rep at SDS if I should even answer/call them back and this is what she replied with:

"I looked them up and they appear to be in New Hampshire, they have no jurisdiction in CA, so they are technically only able to call and try to collect on the debt. If you have nothing to offer to them, calling them is not going to help a thing"

Now I have no reason to doubt what she's saying, but is this true? If a creditor has no jurisdiction in a certain state (CA which is where I am), then I can just wait it out until I have the means to settle the account with them? i.e. not worry about lawsuits or anything while the account is in their hands?

They can contact an attorney in CA to come after you but highly unlikely at this point. They would have to send you something in writing first. After the 30 days, then they will get an attorney in your state to sue you.

They are a sue happy company for the local are,,,MA, NH. I doubt you have anything to worry about right now but watch out for letters from them and come back if you get one. Do not call them at all.
