I sent a DV letter to Richard J Boudreau & Assoc and got back copies of my dismissed chapter 13 bankruptcy which shows the original creditor (who had charged it off 2 years prior) and the subsequest debt buyer. The document is the Trustee's Final Report and Account which shows a claim amt of 15,281. They did not send me any of the documentation I requested (in the standard DV letter. Is this an acceptable validation?? Nowhere on these copies does it list either Boudreau or the debt buyer he claims to be representing, which is National Loan Recoveries. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I don't think this is proper debt validation. To prove that the debt is valid, they will have to provide you copies of your original signed contract with the creditor, the payment history on this account to prove the outstanding debt amount, and proof that the collection agency has the authorization to collect from you. You can send in another debt validation letter through certified mail, requesting a return receipt. If they still fail to validate the debt, you can file a dispute with the credit bureaus.

You can use the sample debt validation letter from http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/letters/sample6.html . While filing the dispute you will have to attach proofs of the validation letter sent to the collection agency, and the answer sent by them.
