Ok, so i called them up and basically told them I am out of SOL in my state and the only way they will be getting money from me is to do a PFD thing. The GUY AGREED to it. I asked if I should send a formal letter stating what I wanted and he said NO. He would send me a letter with the stipulations I wanted. If i agreed with it I would then send the money in.... then they would send a receipt out and have it REMOVED COMPLETELY from my report. IS THIS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE????

They are settling for 1/2 the balance on old checking accounts.. WAMU and COMPASS.....

Should I do anything else or just WAIT on the LETTER and see if it says what i want it to say...and if so i should send the money then wait to see when it comes off my report....

If they dont remove it after i pay it and they sent me a letter saying they would I can then dispute it to get it remobved or would i have to sue them????

Thanks for everything.

Jonathan

I would wait on the letter. You could have him fax or email it to you if you want to review it quickly. If the letter is signed and satisfactory then make the payment with a bank certified check. Make sure to keep a copy of the check and you may even want to get a receipt from the bank when they cash the check. At that point you can dispute the item with all 3 credit reporting agencies and it should not be verified which means it will be removed.
