I've been reading a lot on the site for sometime now, I guess looking for whatever answers I can get. Here's my situation maybe someone can give me some advise on it. I currently have 3 cc that have been charged off and they are all current charge offs, no sol would apply right now. I would really like to try to work them all out, I just can not afford to settle in full. I talked to one of them yesterday and offered to make payments of $25.00 a month, but the more i think about it, I should have made a settlement offer. I don't owe a whole lot on it, the balance is 860, the originial credit offered to settle for 300 right before it charged off, but I couldn't come up with the whole amount right then or I would have. Should I call and offer that 300 to the CA that owns it now and see if they would let me make payments on that? Or is that to unreasonable?

Have they validated the debt yet? I know you say you owe it, but I would make sure they validate it first. If you've already done this then I would send them the offer of 300 in writing and ask that they respond in writing to you. Alot of collection agencies will agree to anything over the phone to get you to send something in. If they do respond in writing to the agreement, then I would make the payment with a money order. Don't give them your debit card info. Or go get a prepaid Visa and pay it that way.

I hope this helps.
