CA wont take payment though mail only wants a PAY BY PHONE

I would try it Dee. Tell them that in the original conversation that you said you'd send a money order or check. Did they tell you they needed payment by 10/26? Or was it another date?

Give them a call. See what they say. Perhaps they will work with you if you Next Day a check/money order?? I know its not the date they wanted. I wouldn't give my checking account info. Some people here have had trouble with that...all sorts of wacky amounts being taken out-other than what they agreed on.

I would also apply for a free consultation...either call the number or fill out the form. They might be able to guide you if the CA won't budge.

I've never used Western Union...could you just pay Western Union with cash? Just withdraw the money from the bank in cash & then go to the service center for Western Union to get the Speedpay? Or do you need to give WU your checking account info?

Western Union does not take checks...

Speedpay and WU are two seperate programs....Speedpay is an ACH payment over the phone. WU is you take cash, fill out a form, pay $15 (or so) and they get it within minutes.

I thought you just said Western Union? Actually Speedpay is a product of the First Data corp that owns Western Union and Speedpay. (dont ask how I know all of that.... :? ) Anyhow, dont do the check by phone.

I wouldn't do a check by phone with them. You could try a pre-paid visa or mastercard or a visa gift card and put just enough on there for the settlement amount and then give them those account numbers, they will not be traced back to your checking account. You could call them and ask if they would take a visa or mastercard and if they do then they can accept that. It is sometimes cheaper than using western union. I have used them for my settlements for my payday loans.

well if i dont then the settlement offer is void i suppose. I will try and call tommorow about mailing it but im sure i will get an earful from them since they want pay by phone. which by the way was NOT part of the settlment agreement when we first spoke!

Tell them your checking account is closed!!!!! Too bad for them...dont slip up, just tell them its closed. If they want their $, they will accept it in other ways!

Also, u can always wire them the money!! They get it immediately and it's not that expensive to do.
Try that option!

Ang, I am sorry, I was wrong. The info does not show . What I was looking at was a copy of the wire that I asked the bank for when someone wired me money. I wanted proof that it waas done. So sorry for any confusion.Its early and i am still half asleep

Send a money order by certified mail with return receipt. If they want to pursue legal action against you, let them. They will long have the payment you sent before this matter could ever go to court. NEVER give a CA or law firm your banking info over the phone and NEVER mail them a check. Use a traceable money order that can be verified as being deposited.

When we are talking about wiring $$, are we talking about a Western Union Quick collect or a bank to bank transfer?

Mine was a bank to bank vbm... and i asked specifically about them getting my bank info!
Any knowledge on this?

uh i just called them and they said i could use my debit card if i didnt want to use my checking. Also they gave me the option of using Western Union Speedpay. I believe they have a service fee of 4 bucks. I havent decided

Speedpay would be the best. If you give them your debit card then they have your account information.

Speedpay is a check by phone-dont do it. If its anything, do a Western Union Quick Collect!

Speedpay is Western Union. I go online and make my car payment that way. I was under the impression that The sent the money to them but the account info did not go with the payment. That is why I use speedpay's website and not over the phone. But I very well could be wrong. If they will take speedpay then they should take quick collect.

The speedpay debits your checking account right? There is a risk they can get to your account info.
Many companies use speedpay as the "service" for online payments. Speedpay is just the broker/product, same as western union, and both owned by first data corporation.
