Midland Funding LLC is suing me, need advice

I've never heard of Midland Funding LLC nor the lawyer's office that worked with them. I responded to the summons stating that I had no knowledge of the debt, had no idea who Midland was, however if the debt was validated I would work out payment arrangements. (probably shouldn't have said that, but I did).
Instead I just received a State of CT Superior Court notice that I have a hearing in May.
What woudl you suggest I do at this point? Should I try to locate my original summons (which is around here somewhere), and contact the lawyer's office directly for Midland? Or should I contact Midland? If so, what number should I use? I haven't heard from Midland, received any notification or anything like that.
Thanks!

You had asked them to validate your debt. Did they validate the debt? If not, then they can't take any legal actions against you. They will have to stop contacting you. You should contact an attorney and take legal opinion in this matter.

???? Midland is ALREADY suing them....DVing them now will NOT stop the lawsuit. Neither Midland or the attorney has contacted them....why will they have to stop doing something they are not doing????
Call the lawyer who sued you and find out what the debt is. If you owe, get it paid or settled ASAP.

If they had a court order to take money from your bank account, then they are not suing you--they already did sue you and they must have gotten a default judgment. Thats the only legal way for them to levy your bank account. Were you served a summons for this? If not, then you need to check the court clerk's office ASAP, and review the docket for this case. Pay special attention to the affidavit of service that they filed with the court--these guys are slimy all day long. They like to use illegal tactics to secure default judgments.
