Am being requesting for the third time validation for a debt that I believe a don’t own. The collection agency only sent me a bill. The date of the bill/account was for day of service October 10, 2002 -November 10, 2002.
How can a demand a validation of this account or How I will know if this account past the Statute of Limitations. Please Help me!

Statue of Limitations ("SOL") varries per state. What state do you live in?

The SOL period that a collector can collect on starts from the date of last payment. A collector can continue to ask for payment afterwards; however he can not sue you if it is pass SOL.

The SOL for reporting the account on your Credit Report is 7 years + 180 days from the date the account first went delinquent.

You will hardly ever get a proper response from your DV request the first time. Send another letter to the collection agency and be sure to mail it certified return receipt. Inform then they did not properly validate the debt. Until the do properly validate the debt, they must stop all collection efforts.

Keep copies of all your letters and your recipts of mailings incase collector persues further.
