Can they do this?

The collection agency was unable to get my address for a while, so they started sending stuff to my Mother-In-Law. Her address is not on my credit report or anywhere in my records, yet they told her that I put the address down on an application (I did not even know my spouse when I did this credit card).
Another question, if they take me to court-which they are trying to do-And the Judgment is against me, they can only take stuff/garnish wages that are mine correct? They cannot take any of my spouse's name (The house/cars etc are all in my spouse's name), so they would only be able to garnish my wages.

They probably pulled your MIL's info from a Lexis-Nexis search.

As far as garnishment goes, what state do you live in?
