summons

I was here about 3/4 years ago and now am back and have some questions. I was just served a summons today 3/27/2011. The date on the paper work is 2/9/2011.
1) It says i have 30 days to answer. Is it 30 days from today or the date on the paperwork.
2) SOL for Oregon is 6 years or 10. I looked but thought I saw one that said 6 yrs and one that said 10 years.
I do have more questions but will wait until these are answered and do some more research.
