credit card debt

I have been summoned to appear in court by a third party ( they bought the debt from washington mutal) My question is should I appear? . I know i owe the money, but i have no job and no income. I live with a family member who is supporting me. I do not own anything in my name. Will they garnish my social security when I am old enough to receive it?

Sounds like either way they are going to get a default judgement against you. Who is suing you? Washington Mutuals portfolio was bought out by another lender when they folded.
