My daughter has had a sheriff come out to the door wanting me to sign so she can be served or summons to court on her debt.I refuse to sign because she doesn't live here and I honestly don't know where she is.Now I do know she was suppose to be in court not to long ago I don't know what the court decided to do since she was not there now I am getting phone calls 12 times a day from different collectors and they are also threating to turn her over to a attoney or court action. She want show up to none of the court hearings because they can not find her so what happens now.First the license she has is of an old address that was out in the country and now is a cemetary ,she put her car in her boyfriends name she pays no insurance, does not vote, works under the table, anyway someone could track her is impossiable,no daycare,no medical doctor to speak of but for some reason the collectors believe I know where she is.I know the collectors have a job to do but believe me I have no knowledge of where she is,so how do I get them to believe me.I have been told I am a bad parent for letting her go into debt but all the bills she has made she was over 21,I have been told to pay her bills for her it is a mess .How do I talk to all these collectors some are real nasty and others don't let you get a word in the conversation.

Well first of all Brenda, even if u DID know where she was this is NOT ur debt nor are u responsible for it!!! If i were u, i would send a cease and desist letter and u did the right thing by NOT signing the summons for her!!!!
This is NOT ur repsonsibilty and send them this cd letter to get them off ur back!!
If u need a copy of one let me know and i'll post it for ya,
Good Luck,
Ang

Brenda..apparently your daughter has given your phone number to all her creditors. You do not have to listen to what these people say. If I were you if anyway possible I would change my phone number. I know this is your number..however the harassing calls would cease. Then if they sent your letters you could respond with the C&D letters Ang discribed above. If not...contact someone in your state that knows about the "do not call list" and asked to be put on it. Keep reading someone will come along with maybe a better idea.

I agree about not changing the phone number; the CA's will just get it again, somehow. Do send C&D letters out, and tell the CA's to stop calling, if you talk to them on the phone.

If they keep calling, after all this, sue! No reason you shouldn't make a buck or two out of this, for all your trouble.
