Has anyone received a call from this person or company? I am a little freaked out and don't know if I should call back to see if it a legitimate debt I am trying to get paid off or just a scare tactic.

I googled the number and there are lots of people comments about it....it appears to be a scam.
"Very Strange Call"
In response to your letter, I got the same call yesterday June 16th at 5:19pm and Today June 17th again, at 2:56pm and I did not answered.
he left me a message both time with the same text, like if he was reciting the message, foreign accent from the 818-338-5073 number ???
I decided to call back and I got the same guy,(Steve Austin). But did not identify the company that he was calling from, he said that it was Law firm in California and that I need it to show up tomorrow at court at 11:00am, nedless to say I live in Washington DC.
When I asked him what was this lawsuit about, he quickly put me on hold, then when he came back online he asked me for my first name and last name, then I told him that I would not provide him with my name, if he was not going to tell me what the lawsuit was about it, then he replied that "if I have been brief about it", I said no! then quickly he hang up the phone.
So I would not worry about it, obiously they did not want to identify their Law firm name, neither what the Lawsuit was about it.
Why should you give him any personal information.
Good Luck!
I'd assume it is a scam or a phishing expedition and would file
I'd assume it is a scam or a phishing expedition and would file a complaint with the FTC, the FCC, and your state Attorney General. And I'd also call your phone company and ask them to block the number because it is from a fraudulent caller.
Same Situation
I received a phone call a couple months ago at work saying that a police officer was going to deliver papers to me and that I needed to be in court the next day. I freaked and hung up. Well nothing happened. Then on 9/2/09 I receive a phone call on my cell and these people have a very strong foreign accent. He says that me or my attained attorney needs to return a call as soon as possible. That it is time sensitive and if he does not hear back from me or my attorney I wish you good luck. Then he called on 9/3/09 on my cell and at my work and the message was exactly the same. Like it was a script. I tried calling the number back to a Steve Jones at 415-200-0201. I checked the number on anywho.com and there was no record. When I called it they said mailbox full cannot accept any more messages. Then it said error and I was disconnected.
that is a scam i INDIA,just ignore the calls as nonsense.

i just got the same type of call but from a 97140000 number; sup
i just got the same type of call but from a 97140000 number; supposedly a satellite phone number so you can't call it back. At first he says he's calling from the Affidavit Consolidation Center and that I have a lawsuit and they want my attorney's contact information and then they hang up. So when they figured i that was not going along with it, he called back and started cursing at me and saying foul things. And that's what has happened before, they started cursing at you when you don't go along with it. The scariest thing is that they have all of your information, because one guy read back my SSN, my current address and even tho i didn't verify that he was correct, i was a little shaken up. I'm not sure how they got it but they do.
fake debt collects with foreign accents

That number was calling me at work continuously and leaving messages that me and my references were going to have to be in the courthouse the following Monday for $5000 lawsuit and all he could with me was "good luck". Such a joke. I can't beleive anyone would acutully send them money.
