I just received a collection letter from William Weaver. Supposedly he is a lawyer in Texas that does collection work. I can't find anything on him anywhere. Does anyone know if he really exists? Or is this a fake collection letter?

Hi--

Searching the TX Bar Association, I found two. the second one is probably the one you are hearing from:

1--William Thomas Weaver, out of Dallas, TX. Just became listed with the bar two years ago. No primary area of practice listed.

5420 LBJ Freeway, Suite 300
Dallas, TX, 75240-6271
(972) 788-5300

2--William P. Weaver Jr., out of San Antonio, TX. First listed with the bar back in 1975. Area of practice is creditors/debtors.

Weaver Law Office
512 Heimer Rd
San Antonio, TX, 78232-5108
(210) 495-1400

No complaints on either one listed with the bar.

If you have something different than these two, please list the address and info here. Hope this helps.

yes this is a real lawyer from San Antonio, Tx. And he will try to get you to pay more than you should. I've dealt with him. He's nice but serious about getting his money.

He seems like an arrogant, washed up attorney if ya ask me. I met with him once, his office is full of mexicans claiming to be "assistants" or "paralegals" that seem underpaid for dealing with all his mess. I stopped in one afternoon and the guy had me sitting in a chair in the middle of a room that looked like it was ransacked with manila folders. He had me sitting there for 20 minutes while he was in the restroom. Then when we finally met, all he did was sit at his desk touching his gold watch, talking about his boring wife and daughter. Gimmie a break guy, all I wanted to do is hire someone to collect some unpaid debts around San Antonio. Like a dummy, I decided to use him after he promised me all my money back, 6 months later he still hadn't opened my files. If you're a business looking to hire a collector, Bill Weaver is NOT the guy for you.

This guy is relentless.... they are aiding 3rd party collections that were bought for PENNIES on the dollar and trying to get the original amount with intrest and pentalties... its sad that they and people like them are allowed to practice law like they do!

Most likely if you live in a small county and your debt is under $1k he aint going to collect from you. I met again with this man and he rejected alot of my cases because low amounts. MONEY IS MONEY.
