I have a Think Cash loan that I defaulted on because I coulld not afford the payments. It has now been sent to collections with Kramer and Assoc. out of MI. My question now is should I send a debt validation letter at this point? I received the dunning letter yesterday (1/11) or should I make contact to set up arrangements right away? My loan was for $700 and the collection letter show a balance of $1227. Wanted to know which is the better way to go to get them taken care of.

There is no harm in sending debt validation letter to them. This way, you'll know all the necessary details of your debt. You can use the following letter:

If they refuse to negotiate with you, then I would suggest you to take advantage of any of the debt relief programs - credit counseling, debt management, debt consolidation and debt settlement. Choose a program that suits you best.
