Hello,
I live in Ohio. I received a call from Thomas Brown and Associates about a payday loan from 2007 or 08. They wouldn't send me a letter validating (they wanted to email) but nonetheless baited me into setting up a payment arrangement. Now, I just broke that arrangement because I thought maybe something was fishy about the amount they wanted. The man, Tony, got mad and said he gonna garnish my wages. What happens next?

In a related case I got a call from a process server saying they needed to verify my address and were gonna find me with a sheriff accompanying them? What does this mean?

for one process servers never call ahead, and especially to arrest you.you need to file a police report as the arrest threat was illegal.then using the phone number and name of the place file an AG complaint.lastly try to recoup whatever you gave this bottomfeeding scam.they broke the law pure and simple and need to be reported not paid.

This is a Scam the name of the Company is called Thomas Brown and associates. They use A phone system that hide there number. They also instruct the employee to not identify themselves when ACTING as a process server. Furthermore. NOBODY GOES TO JAIL FOR OWING MONEY.
IF you have been threatened ask about the courier service they are calling from get that info ( IT WILL BE BOGUS) use the number they give you. And request a proof of debt. Once they send you a form of paper outlining your debt now you have a trail to the server and to the office that used the ploy to FOOL YOU. I worked ther they are scrupulous and undeserving.
