Hi, i'm not from the US, some time ago, i whent to florida and opened a checking account at chase bank, i made a little mistake and got a debt for $152, i didnt know until i got the letter of pinnacle financial group. The debt is a yeard and a half old, and know i have a trip to the US soon, and i dont want to get in any legal trouble, so i would like to know what can i do? i dont whant to give my creditcard info by phone. Thanks.

Check the SOL period on a debt from this given page:

If the SOL period is not over, then the collection agency can take legal steps against you once you reach Florida. So, once you reach Florida, you can contact the CA and settle the debt asap. However, If the SOL period is over, then they can't sue you even if you don't repay the debt.

Yes, the SOL period will be frozen till the time you are out of the country. But the SOL period is going to restart once you reach Florida again. This is why the collection agency can take legal steps against you once you reach Florida if the remaining SOL period is not yet over. There is no need to give any information via phone. Once you reach Florida, you can contact the CA and repay the debt.

To get more information, you can check out the following page:

Then get a money order or a certified check from a bank or get a prepaid debit card. I don't understand. You said you owe it. You said you can afford it. There are several options available to you to pay it. So, what's the problem? It sounds like you're looking for reasons not to pay it.
