Hello - My husband had recieved a fraudulent cell phone bill from AT&T back in 2005. They were charging him for every minute of the day but on the statement it did not show a phone number that he was being charged for and AT&T refused to give him any info. To make a long story short Palisades Collection Agency filed a judgment against my husband in 2007. My brother -n- law being an attorney called Palisades and disputed with them their actions. Palisades then vacated and set aside the judgment We had no idea this was on my husbands credit until the other day. Being that the judgment was vacated and set aside does that mean Palisades can not come after my husband any more? We have filed a dispute with the credit agencies to have the judgment removed.

Are you SURE they vacated the judgment? You need to get a copy of the court papers to see. if it was vacated, then it should be removed from the credit reports...if they do not, there are some further steps you can take.

You should deal with this debt. It sounds like AT&T had some weird glitchy situation with your phone. You need to go back to AT&T and deal with this..if they have sold the debt then I am not sure what you can do, you should have followed up with AT&T and took it all the way to the FCC if needed.

Generally, if the CA has this account right now, they can collect upon it and even sue on it. You should send a debt validation letter. You can explain to them that the debt is in error, but I am honestly not sure how to handle something like this...other than it should have been handled at the original company and not just let go.
