EOS-CCA collections for Verizon

I recently sent EOS-CCA a Cease and Desist letter regarding an old Verizon collection.
Question: Once a collector sells an old debt they own to another collector, are they not legally required to remove the collection notice on the three credit bureaus?
If so, I will dispute them immediately.

There is no law forcing the removal of duplicate accounts. Howev
There is no law forcing the removal of duplicate accounts. However, you can dispute accounts with the credit bureaus.
