Collection Agency faxed dunning letter without permission
Date: Wed, 02/29/2012 - 10:14
Hello.
Quick background on what happened.
Collection agency ( Liberty Processing) called two days ago. I answered the phone and asked for a dunning letter to be mailed to my home address. Man on the phone said he could email or FAX the letter and then started asking for payment or the acct would be forwarded to litigation. I repeated to send me the dunning letter and ended the call.
The debt is for a 400 dollar payday loan that was made 4 years ago. SOL in Florida is 5 years.
Well I got a call yesterday morning ( voicemail) stating that he faxed the letter to a office max here in town and that it is waiting for me to go pick up. I never gave him permission to FAX this. I asked for it to be mailed.
Now this letter which I assume has personal information on it is in public view at a office max. Is this legal?
What can I do from here?

Original lender was Advanced America in the state of Florida.

Update from last post.
I went Office Max to see if the FAX was there. It was not.
I have the voice mail were the guy from Liberty Processing stated that his admin dept faxed the letter to Office Max. He even gave the store address and phone number.
Now I don't know if he actually sent the FAX or if some clerk at the store walked off with it.
