Credit Card paid in full BUT...

I called about closing a US cc in Jan 2011 for $75. The person on the phone said to wait 10 days to get the final interest. I did. I called back, paid in full and left the US for the next 2 years. Now I have received bills stating I still owed $2 (yes TWO dollars) in interest, but since that was 2 years ago, they've added hundreds of dollars in penalties. I called the co & also wrote explaining the situation and even told them to check the so-called recorded voice conversation I had - I even gave them the dates. They refused. I told them I'll die before I send them a cent. Now this agency is calling me. I can't reason with them so I stopped answering. What can I do to end this?:confused:

Did you not wait for a paid in full letter? Where was your mail going?? You could end up being sued over this...try to settle on it.
