What state are you in, is there a phone number or address for them? What state are they in? I found a few different companies with that name and with whatever info you can provide about them will better help us to tell you how to deal with them.
Also, does the letter from them state they are a debt collector? Does it have a 30 day disclosure for you to dispute the debt?

Sit back relax send for validation and wait. Document everything. They will screw up. Then contact attorney and have them served. I did. Don't hear from them or the owner of the debt. Why because they settled the debt off since they never validated and used dirty tactics. My original creditor was HSBC as well. Sold debt to The Bureaus, Inc. who assigned it to these lowlife assholes.

If you low lifes paid your bills companies like this would not be calling you. You should have no reason to get upset when bill collectors call because you owe the debt

hey Mr Bill Collector-ever hear of illness or death or job loss. How about you people treating people with some dignity and MAYBE people would be more apt to pay their debts to you. But, personally I will Never and have Never paid a JDB. It was not your debt to begin with and you pay pennies for it and expect someone to pay you more for it-DONT THINK SO. You are not entitled to it and will not get any money for it, plain and simple!

Addressing Mr. Bill Collector,
did you really choose your profession to be a professional d-ck!! I mean the majority of the consumers are more responsible at paying their bills, house payments etc... than you and the company you keep!
These places like Asset Recovery etc.. buy the debts and hike the total fees up so they can make a profit. It is criminal.
If a consumer is contacted with professionalize and is offered payment options within their budget then that is a different story, but all these other recovery places too is harass and other NO real solutions.
Get off this forum and go back under the rock that you crawled out of, oh and have a nice day!
low lifes
ars llc are low lifes. they promise to take payment but still add interest. The loan never goes down. then they promise to take off the interest but never do. then you talk to the supposed CEO and he makes an agreement to settle but then never sends paperwork. then they keep taking your payment. they lie, they tell you what you want to here but still screw you over.
mrbillcollector
I never received calls on a supposed debt of year 2007 .credit report notes less than 950 owed .We have been from state to state keeping jobs, never got calls or letter from company. This Asset company out of blue sends a notice to sue me for 4 times what they say I owe.I sent request of real debt before they bought it and proof of what they say I owe the asshole response is a letter with a court date when all I wanted to do was work this out. 2 and a half yrs ago when they supposedly bought debt with no effort to contact me I developed an illness and have 6 months left to live. Crawl under a rock your not fair and DO NOT work with anyone!
HSBC & Asset Recovery Solutions
Over the past 6 years I would continually call HSBC and ask if they would work with me. I had a $12500 LOC and was making auto-payments direct from my account for $378/mth....never missed a single payment. After the 5th phone call and no resolve, I cancelled the bank account and stopped paying HSBC. So, what I had done was for my LOC of $12500 I paid back 6 years/72 months at $378/mth and did not pay down the principal at all!! I paid $27216 and it all went to interest! Then when I stopped paying, they accrued interest and the total debt went to about $15,000....this after I had basically repaid the debt 2+ fold. Now they sold the so-called "debt" to Asset Recovery Solutions (actually was Galaxy and ARS ended up with it) and I was forced to settle with them. I was basically forced to let this go to collections so someone would listen to me and accept an offer. Every time I called HSBC to work something out they refused any type of repayment plan even after being a "good" customer...not to mention they barely spoke English. Now I have gotten the total owed to $10,842 and am on a repayment plan of $361.43/mth (auto-deducted) for 30 months. This will bring my total repayment for a $12,500 LOC to $38,059. So, Mr. Debt Collector....is that really fair? I would love to hear the response. I am a respectful, decent, person...and I am being taken advantage of just to attempt to keep a good credit rating. That didn't even work. I tried to do the right thing and was continually screwed...This has totally damaged my credit.

HSBC is getting very hard to deal with... I work in the banking industry and they are folding up their US operations very quickly... was this line of credit a credit card, an overdraft line of credit, home equity line of credit, or an unsecured line of credit? If I were you, I'd stop calling their New Dehli support office, and go into an HSBC branch and speak to a manager. If there are no branches in your area, I hate to tell you, but it's worth driving or flying to one.
You just stopped paying...
Ok, first off, I understand people go through hardships, I've worked in the finance/collection field for the better part of twelve years and I have seen and heard it all. Now, you just decided to stop paying because you didn't like that your payments were going all to interest...Uhm, welcome to credit? Take a look at the fine print of most major credit cards, after that intro rate goes bye bye, they can jack your rate up to whatever your state allows, regardless of how good a customer you are. Look at your home, how much of your mortgage payment goes exclusively to interest in the first five years, that's right, almost all of it. If you didn't like that and stopped paying on your home, what do you think would happen? That's right, foreclosure, sheriff sale, and depending on your state laws, you would owe the difference between what you owed the bank and what the house sold for. I don't understand how you can be complaining, at all, that this company is calling you to pay what you AGREED to pay and didn't. Read all the fine print, don't pay, they can tack on fees, interest, late charges, and you agree that if it goes to collections, that agency may do the same. You have no one to blame but yourself, if you didn't like the terms, simple, go shop around and find another lender to deal with that would have paid off your balance and given you a new loan.
At least this one wasn't about being put in cuffs
