I had a loan with cashnetusa and they sold it to M. Callaghan and Associates. This is a debt buyer not a collection agency. I will send a DV letter today even tho they never sent me a letter, just phone calls. I need to know am I obligated to pay this debt to this debt buyer co. because cashnetusa is a legal payday loan? I am confused on what I should do. I am from Mn. and was told a debt buyer doesn't have to be licensed here. Could I be sued?

Send the letter and wait for a reply! Remember to add a cease communication paragraph to keep them from calling you! Wait and see what happens! They could sue you but probably won't because of the size of the debt. You will probably get a settlement amount! If you do just counter it! You should eventually settle this as it was a legal loan!

You need pay this debt ASAP. You have passed a bad check. This is a felony for which you can be sent to jail.
